The OVS Mentoring Program is available to those who would like to improve their teaching skills. The program begins with a comprehensive assessment of the teacher’s training and experiences to determine targeted areas for skill-building and improvement. OVS provides teachers with a written summary of recommendations, including suggested readings and courses. Teachers then meet one-on-one with Kerrie Obert for targeted trainings based upon the evaluation and the teacher's current needs. Teachers in the training program can record their own teaching for analysis and review. Mentoring sessions typically occur one to two times per month over a half or full year. OVS also encourages Mentoring Program participants to join participate in group sessions to observe Obert working with other students.
